Darn good reinterpretation of the Year One / origin story, with lots of easter eggs toward future stories. Lots of changes overtake the Dark Knight as the story progresses, both in-story and in the changes in this timeline because of The New 52. We have:-- pre-Batman battles between Bruce and the Red Hood-- Bruce remaining hidden in Gotham until spotted by his uncle Philip Kane (!)-- a wonderful twist on the bat-through-the-window decision to be a Bat Man-- master of disguises-- a battle at Ace

I went from volume 3 with the joker to this? Did I miss something?! Batman eternal maybe?Confused. Either way I assumed it was before a certain time and even though Nygma was lame it was a really decent story. I still think Snyder is killing this. Awesome run.
Hey, I liked this collection. Picked it up at my library and I certainly plan to check other Batman collections in this series. Volume 4 is Zero Year (Part 1). But while my digital library has several volumes from Batman (2011), they do not have Vol 5 (Part 2). I did recommend the title, so they might pick it up one of these days. Think I will go back and read the Death in the Family volume.
