Incendies (Le Sang des Promesses #2)
Scorched (or "incendies" in French) is almost 100 pages book, written by Wajdi Mouawad and produced as Play in the first place. Then transferred to brilliant touching movie.I bought the book from a used books store when i saw his attractive cover and the Arabic name of the author. After making some progress in the reading, I realized that is it the same story of an amazing movie I have watched 3 years ago..the story talks about twins, digging in the past, trying to find their real origins after
"Everyone keeps telling me I love you too much. But I don't know what that means, to love too much." For sure, for sure, for sure.

I've noticed today that my students were reading this book for their French class and having seen the movie (and liked it), I was curious about the book. I have to be honest, I didn't tough I would enjoy it so much. This book has blown my mind. It was so fluid and interesting I couldn't stop reading. The contrast between the present and the past happening at the same time added a dimension to the story. It was simply amazing. A must read.
Even if I watched the movie before I could read the book, it's pages and the story keeps giving me chills. Complicated it is to discover certain things and handle the truth with one's hands... To me is a honour, a privilege to read this beautiful story, no matter how traumatizing and twisted it could be. "Rien n'est plus beau que d'être ensemble" Nawal used to say, and now that I know the whole ideology of this masterpiece, I might say that I finally get it, I finally understand what she meant
If you haven't heard me talk about it before I wasn't a fan of the film, this covers a lot of my feelings about it. The play is much better, partly because a lot of things that I thought the film got wrong were left open ended but also there is much more focus on the characters and their state of mind-the movie was totally focused on telling the mother's story but this deals a lot more with her children's reaction and their relationship. Also the structure was a lot more interesting, I wouldn't
There are stories that make you laugh, stories that make you cry, others that make you think... But this one makes you shut up for a long while just like Nawal, the main character. "Incendies" is a mystery story that is brief but yet long, subtle but straightforward. Its style is incomparable and its content is even better: it summons Oedipus to Lebanon's civil war where his guilt becomes greater than before. I loved how the past is synchronised with the present through retrospection and how the

Chronicle During Books Incendies (Le Sang des Promesses #2)
Be Specific About Of Books Incendies (Le Sang des Promesses #2)

This book was a page-turner, every page left me wanting more. I love stories where seemingly different storylines eventually come together and all make sense.
