I can remember the earlier issues of The Amazing Spider-Man comic book. (Yes, I AM that old almost. I read them in reprint.) Stan Lee and Steve Ditko / John Romita did a much better job of portraying the high school angst of Peter Parker and his classmates than had been accomplished by earlier writers. However despite their advancement over the previous decades characterizations oc comic book characters, Peter Parker, Flash Thompson, Harry Osborn, Liz Allan, and the rest were still basicallyWhile I admit that V2 was a little better than V1, still not my thing. The writing is just not the type I dig. I'd prefer MJ anywhere else, as well as every other character basically.
Written by a man who thinks teenage girls are all vapid and co-dependent. Every female character in this book cannot stand to be without a boyfriend as they have no other dimension, interest, or ambition. The boys are nearly just as bad. The writing style is choppy but... there really isn't any sort of plot here to begin with.I did enjoy the art style.
It's a story that's been told before, but it's a story I could read again. Peter Parker, Gwen Stacy, Mary Jane, Flash, Harry, Liz, and a lot of teenage angst. McKeever brilliant at this sort of stuff.
Okay, I loved this. I absolutely loved this! When I finished I actually cried out in anger because I didn't want it to end! Once I got past flashbacks of emo MJ and got into the love triangles I could not put it down! Forget love triangles this book has love hexagons, octagons? Whatever, there was a lot going on! I absolutely loved the characterization of Peter/Spidey, I often found myself giggling like a school girl, and I will not be embarrassed by that fact!We get to see a few more famous
