Judgment Appertaining To Books Assassin's Apprentice / Royal Assassin (The Farseer Trilogy #1-2)
Let me start off by saying that I liked these first two books in the series. A lot. I would have appreciated it if more was explained about Skilling in the first book, and what its limits are. That said, before I started reading this, I always thought it'd be a darker story, with an older character and some quest for revenge. Maybe someone can write a decent fan-fiction in that setting. Nonetheless, I really liked the story and I can't wait to start reading the 3rd one. Good job, Robin.

I will never forget this series- the best I hae ever read.

First re-read since finishing the series several years ago. Whether it was the book or me I can't tell, but this one felt a little slower-paced to me which made it harder to get through. I didn't really like Molly much when I was younger (not that I think Fitz is blameless- far from) and I honestly still don't care for her. I get where she's coming from and she's completely within her rights to be pissed with Fitz, but I just can't summon much interest or sentimental feeling for her character.

I love Robin Hobb's writing. Detailed, marvelous, perfect balance of magic and politics. Game of Thrones WHOOMST?

This book was wonderfully written. I love that it reads like a memoir, and I love the realness of the characters (for better or worse). Fitz was difficult for me to handle at times, he just couldn't seem to get his head in the game this book, and as a result his country and his loved ones suffered. Because of this, I had to keep setting the book down and taking a break. I just kept getting too angry at Regal and frustrated at Fitz! It really was a wonderful read, though, and I really look

At Isaac's recommendation.I eventually liked this! At first I was turned off by the dolorous tone of the narration, but after a while that faded into the background. The events of the story were super engaging, and I kind of liked the young version of Fitz.I've heard mixed opinions on whether I'll enjoy the other two books in this trilogy as much, but I'm totally willing to give 'em a shot and am interested in what happens next.
