For a first book of a local talent, I give my two thumbs up! The book has all the elements of a good read: suspense, romance, a little drama here and a little comedy there. When I finished the first 6 chapters in afternoon, I could not stop myself from finishing the book in the evening. You're in for a lot of twists and surprises! It's also funny that I had a hard time determining what elements were real or not. The author did a splendid job in blending history and current events with sci-fi andGreat read!The story line was A-mazing. The moment I started reading it, I can remember myself looking forward to getting back to reading again.There are some grammar issues here, and there; but for a first-time writer, it's awesome!Good Job Jap!P.S.I want my chapter 2. :)
Work, life, work-life balance.I loved the cover heading. The book was filled with corporate references: things like timesheets, overtime, weekend work, myth of the double pay, OTY, and so on. In fact, every chapter is named after an IT term like peer to peer, third party software, and the ever scandalous regression testing. It's so cool actually. Overall a good book. It did not let me put it down because of boredom and there's always something that tickled my curiosity. Sadly though there are still parts that made me confused, specially the "romantic parts". Maybe a sequel would be nice, --put some flashbacks to 'clarify' the situation then put more action scenes..The floating stuff and mecha seemed to be too advanced but 'twas cool...Keep up the good work!
So about the book..It's a good book, pretty unique. Story line is quite good, cliff hangers were executed properly, everything was quite good, emotion and point of view of the writer was well portrayed on the book, i totally agree on most of his personal view about the society. I had to be honest to myself when i hit that 1 star. It's not like the plot was bad (it was good, don't get me wrong), but the execution of the book just felt like an eternity. An eternity of rants by the main character, an eternity of "bukas na lang" ("let's leave it for tomorrow/another day"), and an eternity of pasts and flashbacks that made me think 'are these even necessary to the book?'.
