Looking at some of the reviews I see I agree with many -- yes Kalen is angst filled and he has every right to be -- kicked out of his home at 14 and forced to live on the street and do whatever he needed to do to feed himself. That is a harsh life and needs to be taken into consideration. His mother abandoned him and the only person who gave any kind of love was his grandmother who gave him a necklace that she told him never to take off because it would protect him. Well yes that is pretty harshBasic idea: "Ever since he saved Dr. Mackenzie Grants life, panther shifter and sorcerer Kalen Black has had trouble keeping the beautiful doctor out of his thoughts, and his heart. Yes, all the trained shapeshifting ex-Navy SEALS describe Kalen as a "bad ass sorcerer" but he's really just a
Loved this book. Kalen is my favorite hero. It was a very fast read.
Black Moon (Alpha Pack, #3)By J.D. TylerThe Alpha pack is an organization made of up former Navy seals turned werewolves. Their purpose is to battle some of the scariest and deadliest creatures not of their world. Each of the Alpha Pack books focus on a team mate, their struggles as a werewolf solider as well as the continued fight against an Evil Fae Sovereign. Black moon focuses on Alpha Pack, new member Kalen. Kalen, a were-cougar and powerful sorcerer, has lived a very sad and troubled life.
The darkest of the books so far, for sure. I didn't like nor get the sexual component that Malik brought to this story and after learning just where he fit into Kalen's life, that shit squeaked me the eff out. But aight. I'm on to the next.
Dr. MacKenzie Grant & Kalen Black are a couple that just can't seem to get it together. Since their night on the town and near death experience things have been strained between them. After giving his only protection against Malik to Mac, Kalen is bombarded with memories, hallucinations and dark thoughts constantly. Mac's memories are clear and firm as she only thinks of her night on the town with Kalen and that soon everyone else will know about it. In fact, she isn't quite sure Nick hasn't
I'm literally devouring this series, love it a lot. This one wraps up this mini arc and I'm just happy to say that instead of dragging out a main storyline for book after book, Tyler instead gives us mini storyarcs that makes it very satisfying to read.Love the H in here. This one's an endearing H full of contradictions. He's powerful yet v vulnerable, alone for most of his life yet craving for love and companionship. He also is pretty insecure and has a low self esteem, yet at the same time he
