At the mercy of the darkness which terrifies her, Pru is alone except for 40,000 dead bodies. She starts screaming with no hope as the black starts to consume her. Suddenly warm strong arms embrace her and she is sheltered from the horror all around. She sleeps until the arms leave her once again alone in the dark and her screaming starts again.

Luckily the dawn is coming and she has not lost her mind entirely before the first burst of light softens the dark. Then the horrors must leave as the day chases them away.

Assessment Out Of Books My Angel, My Light as Darkness Falls
This starts as nothing more than a Regency novel but in the first chapter, while it still remains light-hearted, something disturbing sinister tugs at the seams. The characterizations are startling while engendering a distinct sympathy. Fearghass and Dughlass may be twins but one, with his Scots accent, and the other distinctly English, are distinctly individuals. Pru is a delight, in her determination to get through everything that happens, whether its the death of brother and betrothed,

It was a great read all dark in the beginning but many changes to Kerp you interested. I really enjoyed the fantasy mixed with realism. I can't wait to read more like this one.

I want to thank Linda Hays-Gibbs for letting me read My Angel, My Light as Darkness Falls. :) I enjoyed the attention to detail, specifically on a very spooky battlefield with our heroine. Without giving too much away, I must say I was worried for Pru throughout the story as Ms. Hays-Gibbs' writing of the inevitable doom made for great suspense. I just had to keep reading to see if Pru would be all right. Historicals are a favorite of mine and Ms. Hays-Gibbs' lush descriptions are exactly what I

3-stars.I didn't enjoy this one. The heroine was naive, innocent and just plain clueless, which was appropriate for 1815, but her "goodness" and "light" induced a number of eye rolls. I am so pure that i don't that every man wants to jump my bones wasn't believable. In war times, young maidens tend to grow up a little. It's an easy read but I wouldn't read it again.A proper foundation wasn't laid and thus the book lacked depth and character development. None of the characters moved me and so I

I liked this book and think it is a good read.Very good!
